The Government has announced big plans to reform planning law to deliver very ambitious housebuilding targets. Whilst we are not opposed in principle to new development, we do need more homes, but it must be in the right place with the right infrastructure to support it.
Here in Wistaston and Willaston we have already seen what happens when residents are not properly protected. On 28 May 2026, outline planning permission was granted for 660 homes on our precious Green Gap east of Middlewich Road, on a casting vote, with Labour councillors from the neighbouring ward moving and seconding the approval despite local residents and the ward councillor fighting against it.
We are determined this will not happen again. Please use this short survey to let us know your views so we can represent them as accurately as possible.
Many thanks,
Roger Morris & David Simcox
